Dr. Ibitoye

Dr Edith Adimiche Ibitoye is from Asaba, Delta State and grew up in Ibadan, Oyo State. The daughter of a Railway worker and a school teacher, Dr. Ibitoye has had a passion for learning and has earned a multitude of degrees and diplomas along the line. Some of which include a bachelor’s degree in medicine from the College of Medicine of the University of Lagosin 1982, and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the same University.
She began her medical Career with the Lagos State Government in 1984 with a start at the Massey Street Children’s Hospital on Lagos Island. It was her experience here that kindled my deep interest in Paediatric Medicine. This passion grew further when
the HIV pandemic began. At Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), then General Hospital, Ikeja Dr, Ibitoye became the Coordinator of the Paediatric HIV Unit for the Hospital.
As a doctor in LASUTH/ General Hospital, Dr. Ibitoye has continually surpassed all that was needed of her to support GHAI and it’s efforts to support children who are living with HIV/AIDS (and their families). Thanks to her, there has been ease in reaching to those who need help the most. With Dr. Ibitoye, we know that her passion is truly to help the children who are afflicted by this disease until a cure is found and she has shown this to be true by her continuous support of GHAI
Please join us in celebrating Dr Edith Ibitoye, 2019 GHAI Hero
In her own words, “The little contributions of my colleagues and humble self in the handling and servicing of children and adolescents dreaded disease must have in no small measure contributed to this GHAI Award, for which I am most grateful to the organizers.”
“God bless you richly for all your support over the past years.”
